Q
How did you discover your love for fishing?
A
I discovered my love for fishing watching my dad and all of his brothers laugh and jump for joy when they would fish together. I grew up playing basketball and figured that fishing was silly.... that was until I gave it a chance and realized how difficult it was! This was about 8 years ago and now I’m hooked! I love fishing with my buddies and most of all, my family. To be honest, my cousins that I fish with are much better than me, I just get lucky sometimes. It’s a hobby that allows you to be outside in nature which is very therapeutic, and your goal is to outsmart the fish. Easier said than done.
Q
What’s the best place you’ve ever fished and why?
A
That’s a tough one... but I’d have to say Portage Creek, Alaska. Catching King Salmon, Chums and Silver Salmon on a fly rod is an unreal experience! Even catching Pike at night on a mouse pattern is a blast!
Q
If you could go fishing with anyone in the world (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
A
I’d go with my Grandpa Belmont Anderson (He passed away a few years ago) He was the most enjoyable person to be around when we were on the river.
Q
What’s your goal for 2018, fishing related or non-fishing related?
A
My goal is to be the best dad and husband I can be, to be unselfish, to serve others and from a fishing perspective.....catch a Tarpon on a fly rod!
Q
What’s your favourite slogan/quote?
A
“Be what you is, not what you ain’t. Cuz if you ain’t what you is, you is what you ain’t!” (Be true to yourself)
