LEE RIVER – ONE OF THE LONGEST RIVERS IN IRELAND

River Lee rises in the Shehy Mountains, and flows eastwards through Cork. The river splits in half in Cork city, and later joins the Celtic Sea at Cork Harbour. The river is famous for its 8km stretch of salmon fly fishing, from Inniscarra Dam to Cork city.

  • Salmon Fishing Season for River Lee: Runs from 1st of February until 30th of September. (However the best salmon are there from June to September)

 

MAINE RIVER – LOCATED IN THE KINGDOM, KERRY

The Maine river is a medium sized river, located in County Kerry, Ireland with a catchment area of 154 square miles. This is a challenging river for any angler as the access is quite poor throughout. However, the river is surrounded by stunning views of the wild Irish outdoors, and gets a good late run of wild Salmon.

  • Salmon Fishing Season for River Maine: Runs from the 17th of March until 30th of September.

 

BANDON RIVER – 72KM OF FISHABLE WATERS

The Bandon river begins in the Sheehy Mountains in County Cork, and flows towards the sea near Kinsale. The river travels a magnificent distance of 72km and passes through many Irish towns such as, Dunmanway, Ballineen and Bandon. However, to catch some good quality salmon it is best to remain on the river between Innishannon and Togher Castle.

  • Salmon Fishing Season for River Bandon: Runs from the 15th of February until 30th of September.

 

FEALE RIVER – OUTSTANDING SALMON RIVER OF IRELAND

River Feale, is well known for its majestic surrounding landscapes and great salmon. River Feale rises in the mountainous area of County Cork and continues to flow west, exactly 75km. The river flows through some beautiful locations in Ireland such as Abbeyfeale, Listowel and reaches the sea south of Ballybunnion village in County Kerry. Rod and line fishing on the river Feale is not recommended 3km below the Finuge Bridge, as the river in this area can become very tidal. Hence, body waders are essential for fly fishing on this river due to the high tides, and gravely river bed. On a good season, the Feale River has been known to produce approximately 1,500 salmon.

  • Salmon Fishing Season for River Feale: Runs from the 1st of March until 30th of September.
