Crua HQ's Favorite Super Bowl Halftime Shows
February 08 2023 – Danielle Gagg

The Super Bowl has transformed the way people view The Halftime Show. It has evolved into a showcase of the best artists treating us to a live concert. Over the years we have witnessed some truly amazing acts as well as some awkward show's
So we decided to create a list of the top Halftime Shows of all time and ask the team at Crua HQ to pick their favorite show.
Maria’s (Crua's Head of Marketing) pick.
In 2006 The Rolling Stones performed in Detroit at Super Bowl XL. The Band performed three songs “Start Me Up” ,”Rough Justice” and “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction”. Their performance showed the world why they are considered one of the best bands ever. Their music wasn't the only spectacle because the stage was just as impressive. Their set was in the shape of their iconic tongue out logo and was the biggest the Halftime show ever recorded at that time. You just can't beat old school rock n roll.
Danielle’s (Community Manager) pick
The 2012 Super Bowl Halftime show featuring Madonna was a very difficult performance to follow but, the same way The Queen of pop proved she still has it, Queen Bey proved that she never lost it. Beyonce rocked the Super Bowl with an energetic set featuring impressive singing, dancing and a lot of hip popping. Danielle exclaims "If you haven't watched the full performance I recommend watching it, it's insane"
Loke’s (Content Creator) Pick
In 2017, Lady Gaga deservedly got her chance to finally play the Super Bowl. Lady Gaga may be known for her theatrics and many people had assumed her performance would be all theatrics and no musical talent. How she proved them wrong! Lady Gaga had one of the most high octane sets ever. She was dancing, playing a keytar, changing costumes and even jumped off the top of the stadium, all while singing her greatest hits. It's incredible and you're out of breath just watching it. Understandable why Loke chose this show.
Evan’s (Marketing Intern) Pick
2007’s Halftime show is considered by many as the greatest of all time. Prince came out to “We Will Rock You” and you just knew it was going to be spectacular. The performance was a mixture of singing, guitar solos and pure entertainment. Between the visual appeal of the set and the musical performance itself, you can't argue why he is one of the greatest of all time. Many people often say after, “that its nice that *insert artist here* had a football game during their concert”, but this one time it could be true.
Shakira and J.Lo , Super Bowl LIV
Dermot’s (C.O.O) Pick
No one at Crua HQ was surprised when Dermot picked this performance, as he has told us multiple times his favorite shower song is “Hips Don't Lie” by Shakira, and you can often hear him humming along to “On The Floor” by J.Lo during office hours. In 2020 Shakira and J.Lo both put on a fantastic show, they matched each other's energy perfectly. Shakira got the crowd singing with some of her best songs and J.Lo kept it going. The performance was topped off with both coming together to sing “Waka Waka”, and I don't know if there was any better way to end it.
Overall the Halftime show has become a spectacle of every Super Bowl. No matter what happens, those 20 minutes are the highlight of the day. So let's hope for more amazing performances going forward, and don't forget to let us know your favorite shows in the comments below!
