Camping is best appreciated in summer, where the great weather makes for the best camping experiences. If you love hiking, or any sort of watersports the active season starts in June. To make the most out of your summer experience, you need to find the perfect campground. So, to help you out, we have put together a list of the 10 Best U.S Campsites for Summer Camping.
We are a team of community members, we all live in local places and are involved in local community activities. We know how proud that makes us feel. It gives us a sense of connection and responsibility to our community. As your right hand men and women, we want to make your outdoors experience better always. We are always learning and sharing our best knowledge and prepared for the odd curveball that likes to rear its head every now and then, but then isn’t that what friends do.
And we know camping is not just for the hardcore or nostalgic. We know it is tough when you have kids. We got em, too, so our designs and experiences are your experiences too. We want to share the joy of the outdoors with everyone and make it easier for anyone to experience camping, anywhere. In the desert, the snow or even on a roof for crying out loud, we will literally find ways to make our shelters suit your needs.

Siuslaw National Forest - Oregon: The Cape Perpetua campground in Siuslaw National Forest, Oregon, is extremely popular during June and July. Due to Oregon’s temperate climate, this spot is a great one to visit throughout the summer months. The campground has a stunning oceanfront view and is surrounded by Sitkaspruces and other vegetation. It’s a great spot to sit back, relax and take in the great views on every side of the campsite.
Joshua Tree National Park - California: If you love hiking or geology, then this camp is a good spot for you. To get the most out of your experience try the Ryan Campground. Also, since this park has a desert setting, bring lots of water and be sure to check the weather forecast frequently throughout your trip.
Colorado Bend State Park - Texas: This park is situated on the Colorado River, making it the perfect spot for fishing. It is smaller than other parks on this list but is a great Texas camping spot due to its 5,000 acres of land and river. The park charges entrance and activity fees, so book everything before you get there!
Acadia National Park - Maine: If you live on the East Coast of the U.S then this park is a great option for your summer adventure. The park offers hiking trails, biking paths, and stunning beaches. It is a super option if you are looking for a summer camping trip! The eastern side of the park is best suited for families, but if you are more of an experienced camper then head on over to the western side.
Big Bend National Park - Texas: Big Bend National Park can get a little too hot in the middle of summer, so it is recommended to visit earlier on in the summer season. It is a great spot for bird watchers, hikers and geology fans and has gorgeous cacti and canyons that make the scenery top notch.
Mark Twain National Forest - Missouri: This park has a 53,000-acre lake, a hardwood forest and a marina with a beach. This park is an attractive one for anyone who loves fishing, boating, or other water sports. Also, the forest has over 750 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.
Mount Rainier National Park - Washington: Supposedly the best park in the state, Mount Rainier National Park has gorgeous mountains, forests, and waterfalls for you to check out on your trip. Be sure to stay in the Ohanapecosh campground where you can easily access everything the park has to offer.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park - California: Big Basin Redwoods State Park is the oldest state park in California. If you’ve never seen a huge old growth forest before, then get packing for your summer trip. The redwoods, waterfalls, and plant species are all well worth a look.
Allegany State Park - New York: New Yorkers love heading to the beach for the summer. Although Allegany State Park has its fair share of beaches, there are other activities including walking trails and cave exploring to undertake. Be sure to also enjoy a game of basketball or volleyball at the campsite. We recommend the Quaker area if you are going during the summer.
Sequoia National Park - California: In the summer months the mountains can provide a nice change of mind. The Sequoia National Park offers various campsites ranging in elevation from 2,100 to 7,800 feet above sea level. Since this is bear country, make sure to leave no trace and take appropriate precautions.
